Zelma F. Binkley, 93, formerly of Pearl City and Forreston, died Wednesday morning at Manor Court in Freeport. She was born April 19, 1917 in Ogle County. The daughter of Harry and Kathryn (Wagens) Boelkes. On February 5, 1938 she married Hodge J. Binkley in Clinton, Iowa. He died on July 30, 1990. Zelma and her husband farmed both the Forreston and Pearl City area. She was also a homemaker and she enjoyed playing cards and cooking. Survivors include one sister Helen (Kenneth) Fleischer of Freeport, three nephews; Leroy Boelkes, Robert Fleischer and Kevin Fleischer, two nieces; Audrey Hansen and Darice Dubbs. Also surviving are many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers. Funeral Services will be Saturday 11:00 A.M. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Rev. Rodney Caldwell officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. to the time of service Saturday at Burke Tubbs. Burial will be at West Branch Cemetery in Haldane. A memorial has been established in her memory.
