For over 50 years, the Burke family – three generations of us, in fact – has committed itself to experienced, compassionate service to families throughout Northern Illinois and beyond.

Our father, Gene Burke, and his partner Orrie Tubbs founded Burke-Tubbs Funeral Homes in 1953. Today their legacy of service lives on with two fine facilities in Freeport and Forreston. That’s where you’ll find us, owners John and Bob Burke.

But operating a funeral home is more than a business. We’re the first phone call made when a loved one passes on. Our services are required at a moment’s notice, day or night – or even years ahead, in the case of pre-planning. We provide a final, fitting tribute to the deceased while offering comfort and clarity to those who live on.
