Alvin E. Pierce

Alvin E. Pierce, 74, passed away at home on Saturday, March 5, 2016. He was born Feb. 12, 1942 in Stephenson County to Schuyler and Lois (Stockton) Pierce. In Aug. of 2004, he married Alice Gulovich. Alvin was employed as a truck driver for many years. He also served in the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife Alice; sisters Jo Ann Cain, Linda (Marty) Genkinger, Mary (Mel) Beyer, Leta Standeford, Veona Steck, and Irene Brown; two sons, Jason Pierce and Ryan Pierce; and grandson Ean. Also surviving are two step-children Scott Nevenhoven and Terri (Mark) Unger and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A time of fellowship will be held 12:00 P.M. Friday, March 11, 2016 at the V.F.W. in Freeport.
