Barbara Jo Boschulte

Barbara Jo Boschulte, 93, of Freeport, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in her home. Barbara was born October 31, 1923 in Emerson, Missouri, the daughter of Stanley and Lula E. (Schallenberg) Phillips. She married Robert D. Boschulte February 1, 1944 in Punta Gorda, Florida. Mr. Boschulte passed away November 30, 2015. Barbara attended Park Hills Evangelical Free Church, Freeport Ladies of Elks, Freeport Art Museum, Stephenson County Nursing Home Auxiliary, Freeport Pretzels Fan Club, and Park Hills Ladies 9 Hole Golf League. Barbara competed for many years in the City Golf Tournament. She was well known for her "one-putt" skills. Family was always important to Barbara; she enjoyed the big family gatherings that took place for Thanksgiving and Christmas, where many, many, wonderful memories were made. Surviving are her children, Sharon White, of Columbus, OH., Robert "R.D." (Joy) Boschulte of Bonita Springs, FL., Kay Boschulte of Freeport, Rick (Diana) Boschulte of Eureka, and Mark Boschulte of Boise, ID.; grandchildren, Jim White, Dan (Anna) White, Doug (Melanie) White, Alex (Kacey) Boschulte, Erik Boschulte, and Prairie, Quincy, and Samantha Boschulte; great-grandchildren, Amber, Joseph James, and Caleb White, Rosalia, Adelina, and Luke White, and Micah and Ethan White; sister, Kathleen Jennings of Austin, TX.; also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 71 years, Robert Boschulte; brother, Roy Phillips; sisters, Mona Ward and Virginia Hill; and granddaughter-in-law, Sheila White. Joint memorial services for Barbara and her husband, Robert will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday October 7, 2017 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Balmer will officiate.
