Bernice M. Dietmeier, 80, of Cedarville, died, Saturday, February 21, 2015 in her home. Bernice was born on May 26, 1934 in Freeport, the daughter of Fred and Lena (Wichman) Knoll. Bernice was a graduate of Dakota High School. She married Glenn G. Dietmeier Jr., on May 25, 1957 in Freeport. Bernice worked at JD's Pet Paradise for 31 years. She was a member of Cedarville Emmanuel Church. Bernice enjoyed flowers, gardening, baking, canning, and watching birds, especially her favorite birds, cardinals. She liked attending parades and was involved in many Stephenson County Fairs. Surviving are her husband, Glenn Dietmeier Jr., of Cedarville; son, Larry Dietmeier of Cedarville; three grandchildren, Jenna (Lance) Leverton of Lanark, Jeremy (Ashley) Dietmeier of Freeport, and Tania Dietmeier of Lena. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, Elijah, Torey, Olyvia, Mason, Madisyn, and Kynzie. The family would like to thank a special friend, Shannon for the care she has given. Special thanks to Tammy Olsen for the love and care you provided not only to Bernice, but her family as well. Your friendship has meant more than you will ever know, and we are so blessed to be able to call you family. Preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Edward. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday February 26, 2015 at Cedarville Emmanuel Church with Pastor Christopher Pope officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Burial will be in Cedarville Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Bernice's memory.
