Donna Edith White

Donna Edith White, a resident of Freeport, died Friday, September 15, 2017 at Stephenson Nursing Center. Donna was born July, 19 1936 in Watseka, IL to the parents of Frances Anderson and Donna L Hedeman. She was raised in Franklin Park, IL as the oldest of seven children. She married Clarence White on September 6, 1953 in Corinth, Mississippi, and together, they had 8 children. For more than 20 years, she stayed home and raised her children. In 1975, she continued her life as a caregiver by becoming a Certified Nurse's Aide and caring for the elderly for more than 3 decades. She is survived by four brothers, Frank Anderson, George Gandsey, Oliver Gandsey, and Steve Gandsey; one son, Gary White; five daughters, Sally (Steve) Hardesty, Terri (Norman) Vaught, Donna J White, Julia Huss, and Sheri (John) Cornacchia; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Donna enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who held a special place in her heart and brought her great joy. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday September 19, 2017 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home with a visitation from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service. Burial will be in City Cemetery.
