Gerald E. Heilman

Gerald E. Heilman, 80, of Freeport, died Monday October 9, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Center. Gerald was born July 4, 1937 in Freeport the son of William J. and Rena (Fransen) Heilman Jr. Mr. Heilman liked to follow the Green Bay Packers, going fishing, watching wrestling, and playing euchre with friends and family. Surviving are his daughter, Rena Sickles of Freeport; brother, Ron (Carol) Heilman of Freeport; sister, Nancy Gill of Freeport; sister-in-law, Marjorie Heilman; grandchildren, Amanda (Bruce) Sickles-Dallman, Josh (Jamie) Sickles, Brandon Sickles, and Dustin Sickles; also surviving are six great-grandchildren. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and four brothers. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday October 12, 2017 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Rev. Don Jamerson will officiate. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at Burke Tubbs on Thursday. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Gerald's memory.
