Harold K. Meyer

August 11, 1915 — December 30, 2012

Harold K. Meyer, 97, of Baileyville, went home to be with Lord, Sunday December 30, 2012 in his home. Harold was born on August 11, 1915 in Baileyville, the son of Henry and Carrie (Oltmanns) Meyer. Harold married Alice Dikkers on February 21, 1940 in Freeport. She passed away on August 25, 1985. Harold was a lifelong farmer in both Ogle and Stephenson County. He was a member of Baileyville Reformed Church and later Community Reformed Church in Freeport. He enjoyed walking his fields, traveling and was a member of the Gideon'™s for over 40 years. Surviving Harold are two sons, Robert (Sue) Meyer of Pearl City and Jerrold Meyer of Baileyville; two daughters, Carol (Larry) Coy of Freeport and Judi Kemper of Glendale, Arizona; daughter in-law Carla Meyer of Baileyville; nine grandchildren, Scott Meyer, Denise (Kevin) Swanson, Carl (Angie) Meyer, Randall (Vanessa) Meyer, Karen Peters, Kimberly Midthun, Elizabeth (Sam) Boateng, Rebecca Boateng-Sampong and Michael (Michelle) Kemper. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife, his son, Dennis Meyer, infant daughter, Karen and one sister Minnie Wubbena. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday January 7, 2013 at Community Reformed Church in Freeport. Rev. Herb Bollman will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. There will also be a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the Church. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Community Reformed Church. Burial will be at Silver Creek Reformed Cemetery in German Valley. Please sign the guestbook at www.burketubbs.com
