Irma Jean Storr

MRS. IRMA JEAN (Wessels) STORR Resident of Good Samaritan Village, Kissimmee, FL. and Riverwind Community, Hendersonville, N.C., passed on to be with the Lord Jesus on June 12, 2017 at Good Samaritan Center, Kissimmee, FL. Irma Jean was born July 8, 1929 in Stephenson County, Illinois. Her late parents were Harry H. and Evodia (VanLoh) Wessels. She attended Elmwood Elementary School and Freeport High School as well as Bob Jones University (BA) and University of Illinois (M Ed). From 1955 to 1958 she served as principle of Riverside School in Rockford, Illinois. Then in 1958 she left for India to serve as a missionary/teacher with The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM) until 1970. While in India she was at Woodstock International School and established a vocational training center for teenage Tibetan Girls. In 1975 she married David Aubrey Storr of Westfield, New Jersey. He died March 6, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband and sister, Evodia Jane Stoddard. Her survivors include: three children, Pamela Storr, Rinchen (Janet) Sonam, & Rev. Richard (Dawn) Storr; and four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Irma Jean has been active in the Good Samaritan Village Church (missions & music) of Kissimmee, FL. She has also been involved in the Gideon Auxiliary. Memorial services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday June 17, 2017 at Good Samaritan Community Church, Kissimmee, FL. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 24, 2017 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport. A memorial fund has been established for Gideon's International.
