James "Jamie" L. Swift

James "Jamie" L. Swift, 65, of Forreston, died Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in Ogle County. Jamie was born June 17, 1955, in Freeport, the son of James and Bonnie (Griffin) Swift. Jamie proudly served for his country in the United States Air Force. He worked as a truck driver for many years. Jamie enjoyed fishing, following the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs, spending time with his beloved dogs and most of all being with his family. Surviving are his two sons, Joshua Swift of Davis and Andrew Swift of Mt. Morris; two daughters, Trina (Troy) Goodwin of Dakota and Becky Swift of Forreston; father James Swift Sr. of Forreston; brother, Barry Swift of Forreston; sister, Penny Swift of Forreston; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Jamie was preceded in death by his mother. Private family burial will take place at White Oak Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Jamie's memory.
