Jill C. Marten

Jill C. Marten, 37, of Freeport died Friday at F.H.N. Memorial Hospital. She was born March 21, 1978 in Freeport, Illinois the daughter of Steven E. "Mort" and Sherilyn R. (Mitchell) Marten. Jill was employed as food manager at Mort's Bar and Grill. Jill enjoyed cooking, gardening, decorating, darts, and especially visiting with friends and family. Jill is loved by her parents Mort and Sherie Marten, four brothers; Doug Kohn, Jay (Tiffany) Marten, Ben (Sarah) Marten, and Michael (Caley) Marten; her sister, Autumn (Billy) Wagner; her nieces and nephews: Alex, Jordan, Craig, Luke, Jayce, Ellie, Max and Vivienne, as well as her many aunts and uncles, and her special friend, Rocky. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 5, 10:00 A.M. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Rev. Diane Jochum will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, 3:00-7:00 P.M. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lena Burial Park, Lena, Illinois. A memorial has been established in her name.
