Laverle F. Lingbeck

Laverle Frank Lingbeck, 82, of Freeport, died Tuesday September 26, 2017 at Stephenson Nursing center in Freeport. He was born September 11, 1935 in Freeport, IL, the son of Frank and Wilma (Schweder) Lingbeck. LaVerle married Joan Gast may 11, 1955 in Freeport, IL. LaVerle's life work was real estate development, commercial and residential. He enjoyed remodeling old buildings. He always had a motorcycle and enjoyed riding. His lifelong passion was flying, at an early age he was always hanging out at the airports and bumming a ride whenever he could. Flying really started when he bought an ultra light kit, built it and learned to fly; from then on he flew at every chance. LaVerle is survived by his two sons Gary L. (Sue) Lingbeck of Freeport, IL and Dennis R. Lingbeck of Roscoe, Il; his daughter Sherry Phillips of Machesney Park, IL; his brother Daryl Lingbeck; three sisters Arlene Welsh, Marilyn Harris, and Carol Bartelt; two grandchildren Seth (Krysta) Lingbeck and Rachel (Jayson) Dittmar; and two great-grandchildren Evelyn and Jaylee Dittmar. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son-in-law Bob Phillips; and a great-grandchild Ayden Dittmar. A visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. Monday October 2, 2017 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. There will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established in his memory.
