Lawrence A. Taylor, 68, of Freeport, departed this earthly life Friday, September 8, 2017 in his home. Lawrence was born August 25, 1949 in Freeport, the beloved son of Ulysses and Florence (Landry) Taylor. He served in the Vietnam War for the U.S. Army. Lawrence's work history is never ending; he worked at Modern Plating Company, Freeport City Cemetery and Friends Forever Humane Society. He loved driving his motorcycle and his many Cadillac's. Lawrence leaves to cherish his memory to his lovely wife, Diane Taylor; daughters, Melika (Cedrick Chatman) Moore and Ranina Collier; two sons, Mario Erving and Dylan Nortan all of Freeport; two sisters, Jean Walker of Freeport and Florence (Michael McGee) Taylor of Canton, GA.; sister-in-law, Sharon Taylor and loved by a host of nieces, nephews, and nine grandchildren, Samar Chatman, Raniyah Collier, Leona Collier, Levayah Collier, Damario Erving, Isaiah Erving, Anna Erving, Alyiah Erving, and Zyaire Erving. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Ulysses and Florence Taylor; son, Andre Crayton; step-son, Marcus Moore; brother, Jim Taylor; and one niece, Marcia Bankston.
