Myrna J. Gusloff, 87, of Freeport, IL passed away Monday October 7, 2024 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. She was born July 6, 1937 in Jo Daviess County, IL to Lige and Ruth (Taylor) Townsend. On September 12, 1959 she married Jack Gusloff in Freeport. Myrna spent 22 years working as a secretary for the Illinois Cooperative Extension Service and also supported 4-H. She retired in 1998. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Freeport. Myrna was a great baker and she loved baking and decorating wedding cakes. Family was most important to Myrna and she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Jack of Freeport, IL; daughter, Sue (Greg) Anderson of Evergreen, CO; son Bradley (Wendy) Gusloff of Freeport, IL. She is also survived by two brothers, Marlow (Ardale) Townsend, Meredith (Pat) Townsend, and two sisters Marilyn Davey and Maxine Franz; five grandchildren; Caleb (Ana) Gusloff, Graham Gusloff, Victor Anderson, Will Anderson and Sam Anderson; and one great-grandchild, Jaxon Klaus.
Preceding Myrna in death are her parents and her siblings, Morris Blair, Marjorie Juergens, and Malcom Townsend.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday October 25 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Freeport after the service. A memorial has been established in Myrna’s memory.
