Philip Luther Walden

Philip Luther Walden, 86, of Mesa, Arizona, and formerly of Rockford, died Tuesday June 20, 2017 at Hospice of the Valley in Gilbert, Arizona. Philip was born February 7, 1931, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, the son of Roy and Klara (Nybroten) Walden. He married Rosemary Hasse on December 21, 1956. Mrs. Walden passed away June 29, 2015. Phil worked as an engineer at Sauer Sundstrand for many years. He and his wife enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona, so much that they moved to Arizona to live full time. Phil loved playing tennis every day. Surviving are two sons, David (Teresa) Walden and Mark (Denyse) Walden; five grandchildren, Adam (Heather) Walden, Austin Walden, Emily Walden, Bailey (Andy) Nelson and Klara (Jono) Campbell; and seven great-grandchildren. Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Klara Walden; wife, Rosemary; and siblings, Ruth Haw, Arthur Walden, Dorothy Van Duyse. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 22, 2017 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Rev. Dr. Willis Schwichtenberg will officiate.
