Willie Harold Gage Jr.

Willie Harold Gage Jr. peacefully departed this earth in his sleep, Wednesday, May 24th, 2017 at the age of 58. He was born in Chicago, IL on September 22nd, 1958. Willie is son to the late Willie Harold Gage Sr. and the late Loretta Evelyn Gage (McGee). Willie received his formal education from Freeport Sr. High School, in the graduating class of 1976. He later attended Highland Community College. Willie was employed at Kelly Springfield and the Milwaukee Railroad. At the age of 29, Willie was in an accident, causing him to become quadriplegic. He was a child of God, and attended First Church of God of Freeport, IL. Willie was fun-spirited, he brought joy to everyone around him, and he had a love for old school music. He is predeceased by his parents, Willie and Loretta Gage, and a brother-in-law, Mark Dumars. Willie is survived by a daughter, Gwendolyn Simpson of Milwaukee, WI; two grandchildren, Diondre Simpson and Kiyondre Simpson; great-grandchild, Danyjia Simpson; eight siblings, Suzette (Mark-deceased) Dumars; Danny (Lilly) Nicholson; Ronald Gage; Dwayne (Pamela) Gage; Cheryl (Ricky) Erving; Tracy (Regina) Gage Simmons; Alan Gage; Antoinette Gage; and a host of caring and loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 at First Church of God, Freeport, IL. Pastor Reginald D. McGee will officiate. Visitation will be held 4pm-7pm, Friday, at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport, IL. Burial will take place at Freeport City Cemetery. Repast will be held at the Monroe Center 714 E.
