Andrew “Andy” J. Dominick, 62, of Orangeville, IL, passed away Friday, January 2nd, 2026, surrounded by his family at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born October 18th, 1963, in Freeport, IL, the son of Daniel and Norma (Rockow) Dominick. Andy graduated from Freeport Senior High School in 1981. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in January 1985 and was honorably discharged in January 1995 with the rank of Sergeant. On May 17th, 1985, he married Jackie Schramm in Freeport, IL.
Andy proudly served in the United States Air Force for 10 years, a chapter of his life he carried with great pride. He was stationed at RAF Lakenheath in England, Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, where he served in Operation Desert Storm, and Scott Air Force Base in Southern Illinois. During his time in Nevada, Andy and Jackie were blessed with three beautiful daughters. After his honorable discharge, the family returned to Freeport, IL, to be closer to family. Andy found a fulfilling career with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, working at Lake Le-Aqua-Na State Park in Lena, IL, for 10 years.
In addition to his service to his country, Andy was known for his unique sense of humor. He could always be counted on to lighten the mood with his quick wit or a smart comment. Andy’s hobbies included yard work, a passion that earned him "Yard of the Month" recognition at Nellis AFB, woodworking, golf, and cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks.
He is survived by his wife Jackie, daughters Samantha (Andy) Schumacher, Jessica (Matt) Moyer, and Erica (Evan) Goetler, grandchildren Carson and Madison Schumacher and Talon Moyer, his mother Norma Dominick, brother Chip (Gloria) Dominick, sister Sue (Jerry) Wetter, brother-in-law Rick Schramm, sister-in-law Dori Mighell, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Andy in death are his father Daniel Dominick, in-laws Jack and Sharon Schramm, and nephew Nicholas Schramm.
Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established in Andy’s memory for Disabled American Veterans.
