Betty J. Forrester

Betty J. Forrester, 94, of Freeport, IL passed away peacefully Tuesday June 11, 2025 at Winn Prairie. She was born October 17, 1930 in Rock Falls, IL the daughter of William and Elveta (Hamilton) Elgin. On February 26, 1965 she married Kenneth Forrester. Kenneth passed away January 23, 2003. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Betty will be remembered as a loving person who always put her family first, found great joy in spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her five sons Steven Hoff, David (Elaine) Hoff, Michael (Lynn) Hoff, Todd Forrester, and Kevin (Harmony) Forrester; daughter Mary Boren fiancé (Lamont Gingrich); two sisters Shirley McCloud and Rose Sheley; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Richard Elgin, and three sisters Sharon (Sue), Lavonne, and Patricia.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM till 11:00 AM Tuesday June 17 2025, at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum where there will be an opportunity to share a story or memory about Betty . A memorial has been established in Betty’s memory.
