Beverly Jane Maher

Beverly Jane Maher, 90, of Freeport, IL passed away Thursday July 3, 2025 at Ascension Living Saint Joseph Village. She was born February 28, 1935 in Belvidere, IL, the daughter of William and Gladys (Artz) Meckley. On September 1, 1955 she married Robert Maher. Robert passed away January 30, 2008. Beverly enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, word searches puzzles, putting puzzles together reading a variety of genre of books, and watching the birds and squirrels at her bird feeders, especially her favorite bird, the cardinal. She loved cheering on her favorite football team, the Chicago Bears. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and really enjoyed visits from her children.

She is survived by her seven children Shirley (Steve) Kryder, Cindy Wagenknecht, Robert (Donna) Maher, Randy Maher, Raymond (Nannette) Maher, Howard Maher, and Mary Lemanski; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and special niece Bonnie Gibbs.

Preceding Beverly in death is her husband Robert Maher, her parents, and siblings.

Private family graveside services will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
