Bonnie Joy Gehrs, 82, of Lanark, Passed away April 25, 2026 in her home. She was born February 14, 1944 in Chicago, Il, the daughter of Thor and Frances (Lyons) Alexander.

Bonnie Joy married Robert Gehrs June 17, 1967.

Bonnie Joy worked as an educator and counselor in the Naperville School District for many years. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Freeport, IL and Alpha XI Delta Sorority. She enjoyed helping others, reading, spending time with old friends and neighbors, helping serve communion, lectoring, jogging, walking golfing, kayaking, teaching, and nature.

Bonnie Joy is survived by her husband, Robert Gehrs of Lanark, IL; sons, Brett Gehrs of Cusseta, AL and Todd (Jeanette) Gehrs of Naperville, IL; sister, Carol (Bob) Martin; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11:00 AM Saturday May 30, 2026 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Freeport, Il with Pastor Shellie Knight officiating.
