Chad Paul Wirsing, 51, of Freeport, IL passed away Thursday June 5, 2025. He was born September 6, 1973 in Freeport, IL to John and Diane (Cromwell) Wirsing. He graduated from Freeport High School in 1991. Then continued his education at Highland Community College. He was a hard worker at a young age. He continued to develop a strong work ethic and determination.
No one that met Chad Wirsing forgot his kindness for others, determination, passion for work, and love for his family. He was known for his sarcastic sense of humor, and could light up any room. He was a savvy businessman who had a passion for learning and continuously expanding his knowledge. He had many passions in life including his favorite activities boating and camping, which he enjoyed sharing with his fiance and children. He had a keen interest in airplanes, vintage cars, and exploring new cuisines, but nothing ever surpassed his love for pizza. During his free time he also loved watching movies and documentaries.
Chad is survived by his fiance Nicole Holmes; eight children Alexander Kauffman, Elexis Holmes, Hutson Kauffman, Madilyn Wirsing, Mylee Wirsing, Aden Wirsing, Ava Wirsing, and Isabella Wirsing; grandson Ashton Epps; brother Todd Wirsing; nieces and nephews Katrina Gabel, Sadie Pals, Jade Wirsing, Zack Wirsing, Lauren Wirsing, Rain Wirsing, Corbin Wirsing, Christina Wirsing, Brittany Wirsing, and Skyee Franklin; and many great nieces and great-nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Crystal.
Memorial services will be 12pm Wednesday, June 18th, 2025 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 9am until the time of service. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Chad’s memory.
