Daniel K. Riggle, 51, of Dakota, IL passed away Monday August 7, 2023 at UW Health University Hospital. He was born September 25, 1971 in Rockford, IL to Dennis Keith and Carol (Cotton) Riggle. On May 2, 1992 he married Tina Winters in Freeport, IL. Dan was a Project Manager for Berner Foods for the past 18 years. His hobbies included fishing, softball, snowmobiling, hunting, Mustang cars, and anything outdoors. He was known by his family and friends as the nicest guy you could ever meet and they also referred to him as Cap’n Dano. He never gave anyone a reason not to like him and he was known as a respectable and lovable man. Dan was also known for being a gear head because he could fix anything and he was referred to as a MacGyver. Most of all, Dan really enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, and he was Tina’s love of her life.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 32 years Tina of Dakota, IL; two sons Dylan Keith (Brittney) Riggle of Dakota, IL and Dalton James Riggle of Dakota, IL; brother Shane (Angie) Riggle of Davis, IL; sister-in-law Tawney (Steve) Beck of Freeport, IL; two brother-in-law’s Chris Winters of Freeport, IL and Chad (Kristen) Winters of Indiana; grandson Dax Keith Riggle; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews including Mickey (Drew) Wenger of Dakota, IL, Evan Riggle of Murfreesboro, TN, Josh (Kelsey) Kostenbader of Freeport, Jessica (Clay) Britton of St. Paul, MO, Miles (Ruth) Edwards-Winters of California, Audrey Winters of Rockford, IL, and Catileya Winters of California.
Preceding Dan in death are his maternal and paternal grandparents and mother-in-law Cheryl Vogt.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday August 15, 2023 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. A visitation will also be held Monday August 14, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in Daniel’s memory.
