Dennis Carlyle Coleman, 82, of Freeport, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025. Known as “Dee” to family and “Denny” to most others, he leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness and integrity that touched everyone that knew him. A graduate of Dakota High School and a dedicated professional in the Autobody industry. After retirement, he worked part-time for Morse Electric in their warehouse. He made many good memories and friends with all he worked with.
His greatest joy was being involved with his Children, Grandchildren, Great-Grand Son and was looking forward to his next Great-Grand Child’s arrival. He was an avid Cubs and Packers fan, and also enjoyed many years boating on the Mississippi River.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda; Sister Carolyn (Bud) Holste; Three sons, Tim (Laurie), Todd and Tyler; Six Grandchildren, Brock (Ashley), William, Andrew, Masyn, Elizabeth, Brady; one Great Grandchild, Cade, one Great Grandchild due to arrive in December and his dog “Rizzo”.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eden and Amy; Brother Jack, Sister-in-law Ruth, Mother and Father in-law Roy and Ruth Nevenhoven, and Daughter-in-Law MaryBeth (Dahms) Coleman.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday November 18, 2025, at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, 504 N. Walnut Ave, Freeport, IL. 61032. Visitation will be held from 11:30 A.M. until the time of service. Grave side services at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens will follow.
