Diana L. Vietmeier, 79, of Forreston, IL, died Monday, May 26, 2025 at Walnut Acres in Freeport, IL.

She was born March 2, 1946 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Donald W. and Myrtle Virginia (Whalen) Alberts. Diana married Marvin “Marv” Vietmeier on June 16, 1962 in Forreston, IL. She was a loving and devoted housewife and mother who was also very devoted to her church and its activities and events. She loved rose bushes and plants and enjoyed collecting a variety of dolls. She and Marv participated in many potlucks with close friends that also included card and board games.

Diana is survived by her two sons, Todd (Debbie) Vietmeier of Forreston, IL and Kevin (Michelle) Vietmeier of Chesterfield, MO; daughter, Laurie (Edgar Huenefeld) Waack of Forreston, IL; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Ronald Alberts.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Forreston Reformed Church with Rev. Lyle Zumdahl officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport, IL. Memorials may be made in Diana’s name to Forreston Reformed Church.
