Dorothy D. Whitson, 90, of Freeport, passed away, Wednesday March 19, 2025, at FHN Memorial Hospital. Dorothy was born February 5, 1935, in Freeport, the daughter, of Eilery M. and Minnie (Kuhl) Runkle. Dorothy married William A. Whitson March 21, 1954, in Kent, IL. Mr. Whitson passed away July 6, 2007. Dorothy was a member of North Grove Church, Eagles Auxiliary, and Stephenson County Association for Home and Community Education.
Survivors include her cousin, Ann Runkle; many nieces and nephews; and special cat, Farley.
Preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday March 27, 2025, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Dorothy’s memory.
