Elaine L. Wise, 80, of Dakota, IL, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026, in her home. She was born August 3, 1945, in Freeport, IL, the daughter of LaVerne and Mayme (Fowler) Schoonhoven. Elaine married Donald Wise on September 17, 1966, at First Baptist Church in Freeport, IL.

She is survived by her husband Donald of Dakota, IL; two children, Jamie Wise of Los Angeles, CA and Lisa (Jason) Pryor of Belvidere, IL. Preceding Elaine in death are her parents; three siblings, Jack Schoonhoven, Edyth Cochran, and Dick Schoonhoven; and her infant son, Brian.

Per Elaine’s wishes there will be no services. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum. A memorial has been established in Elaine’s memory.
