Ethel Mae Woodall

Ethel Mae Woodall was born on February 5th, 1959, in Vance, Mississippi, to Ethel Beasley and Arthur Woodall. After relocating north at a young age, Ethel spent most of her youth in Rockford, Illinois, attending Auburn High School. Her passion for caring for others led her to work as a CNA before transitioning to a 20 year plus career at Newell Rubbermaid in Freeport, Illinois.

Ethel was known for her infectious smile and smooth dance moves. She was also very passionate about showing her appreciation through capturing photos, and precious moments through picture collages, and making personalized gifts for others. She was very outspoken and never afraid to speak her truth, which was part of her strength. Those who knew her best cherished her thoughts and opinions because it came from a place of love and authenticity. As the eldest of her siblings, Ethel cherished her family deeply.

Ethel is proceeded in death by her parents, Ethel Leavy and Arthur Woodall, and her special friend, Tommy Francis. She leaves behind her four beautiful children; Latesha Woodall, Constance (Andrew) Allen, both of Freeport, IL, Denzel Woodall of St. Louis, MO, and Sidney Jackson of Lincoln, IL; Five grandchildren; Nykelia Lacy of Collinsville, IL, Martaveon Lacy, Aireona Dockery, Zamir Horton-Woodall and Damarion Baymon all of Freeport, IL. She also leaves behind four sisters and one brother; Cora (Keith) Woodall-Phillips, Elaine (Edward) Tucker, both of Topeka, KS, Sandra Woodall, of Kansas City, MO, Effie (Calvin) Dubone-Hunter, of Memphis TN, Leon (Shalanda) Smith of Rockford, IL, and her extended sisters and brothers from the Leavy's and Smith's.

Ethel also leaves to cherish lifelong friend, James Jackson (JJ).

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 4, 2025 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home.  A visitaiton will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Ethel's final resting place will be at Oakland Cemetery in their mausoleum.
