Floyd W. Baker

Floyd W. Baker, 89, of Freeport, IL passed away Monday July 6, 2020 at Manor Court of Freeport. He was born March 2, 1931 in Winslow, IL to Lawrence and Louella (Knight) Baker. On August 17, 1972 he married Barbara Snyder. Floyd was employed at Micro Switch Honeywell for 36 years as an electrician. He enjoyed working on cars and attending car shows. He also enjoyed country music and traveling to Nashville, TN. Floyd is survived by his wife Barbara of Freeport, IL; two daughters Susan (Duane) Steele of Cedarville, IL and Cynthia (Larry) Vondran of Rockton, IL; one stepdaughter Julie (Steve Pease) Sewell of Rockford, IL; six grandchildren Betsy Gilpin, Katie Smith, Summer Flowers, Stephanie Danielson, Amy Sewell and Zachary Sewell; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday July 10, 2020 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. also at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Floyd's memory.
