Gene Earl Williams

Gene Earl Williams, 77, passed away, in his daughter’s home in Madison, Wisconsin, on Monday April 29, 2024. Mr. Williams was born July 3, 1946 in Charleston, Mississippi, the son of Lloyd and Josephine (Fane) Carathers. Mr. Williams married Gertrude Allison on November 9, 1967. He worked as a diesel mechanic and heavy equipment operator for Local Union #150.

Surviving is his four daughters, Deloris Brown, Janice Williams, Celesta Williams and Betty Roebuck; sisters, Timothy Pimpton and Alice Robinson; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren including Jermayle, Jeremiah, Jamarion, and Donovan whom he had a special relationship.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ethel Mae Broom; and brother, Claude White.

Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Saturday May 4, 2024 at New Jerusalem Church, Freeport. Rev. Nathan Allison will officiate. Visitation 11:00 am until the time of service at the church.
