George L. Drews

George L. Drews, 65, of Dakota, IL, died Friday December 10, 2021, at FHN Memorial Hospital. He was born February 29, 1956, in Delevan, WI, the son of Leonard and Pearl (Key) Drews. George married Loreen Artz May 21, 1996. George was a United States Marine Veteran. He enjoyed fishing and camping at Lake Le-Aqua-Na, and listening to gospel music. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. George is survived by his wife Loreen Drews of Dakota, IL; mother, Pearl Drews of Belvidere, IL; daughter, Sarah Drews of Dakota, IL; brothers, Eddy, Gary, Chris, and Doug Drews; sisters, Linda, Cathy, and Cindy ; brother-in-law, Rodney Artz; sister-in-laws, Kathy (Rick) Burfield and Chris (Randy) Geiser; and grandchildren, Noah, Isaiah, and Nevaeh. George was preceded in death by his father and brother, Lee. Private graveside services will be held at Rock Island National Cemetery. A memorial has been established in George's memory.
