There will be an open house reception from 1:00pm until 4:00pm, with a small presentation at 2:00pm
Henry H. Fortney
Hank won his battle with cancer by meeting his Savior Jesus Christ and being taken to heaven on February 8th, 2026, peacefully with his family by his side.
He was the proud owner of Miller Engineering Company for more than 50 years and loved the relationships he established with his many co-workers, contractors, architects, engineers, and suppliers, treating them all as family.
Hank was a member of City First Church (formerly First Assembly of God) for over 50 years, to which he devoted himself to serving the Lord. He enjoyed his down time traveling, hunting, fishing, and working outdoors
Hank is survived by his wife of 61 years; Linda (Hammond) Fortney; his children; Angela O’Keefe, Beth-Ann (Sean) Lane, James-Neil (Donna) Fortney; and his sister; Debbianne (Jim) Davis.
His memory also lives on with his 10 grandchildren, along with 8 great-grandchildren (with more on the way). He cherished his family and friends and were the joy in his life.
He has been reunited with his parents; James Henry and Helen Elizabeth; sister Helen Dee; and brother James Bartholomew.
Per his wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held on April 10th, 2026, at the UMB Bank Pavilion in Rockford. There will be an open house reception from 1:00pm until 4:00pm, with a small presentation at 2:00pm.
Also, per his wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations will be allocated to ZOE International Foundation, which is a ministry that works in preventing and rescuing children from human trafficking and exploitation.
