Janice Marie Cain, of Madison, Wisconsin, unexpectedly passed away on September 1, 2026 at the age of 64. Born on March 21, 1962, in Rockford, Illinois, she lived a life marked by curiosity, warmth, and a deep love of learning.

Janice’s dedication to education began early and never wavered. She graduated from Rockford West High School as a LPN. Then went on to graduate from Rockford College with a degree in Computer Science, followed by additional coursework at Northern Illinois University and the University of Wisconsin. Learning was more than an accomplishment; it was a lifelong joy. 

Janice was preceded in death by her mother Addie Lee Pearson; her father Carlos Cain Sr and brother Carlos Cain Jr. She leaves one sister - Cheryl L Cain.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday September 16, 2026 at Freeport City Cemetery.  Repass will be around 1:00 PM at Cimino's Little Italy, Freeport, IL.
