John Francis Readle was born on April 2, 1939 in Fairbury, Illinois to Fred and Lena (Duvall) Readle. He served as a Medic in the U.S. Army from 1960-1961. A farmer most of his life, John had a knack for growing things and fixing machinery. He also worked as a screw machine operator for Seward Screw and a machinist at Sauer Danfoss in Freeport IL. He purchased a farm outside Dakota in 1971 and lived there until he passed away in August 2026.

John is preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Evelyn, Katherine and Norma and 1 brother, Elmer. He is survived by his wife, Joanne (Campo), daughters Christine and Suzanne, stepchildren Deborah and Joseph, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside inurnment ceremony will be held at Pioneer Cemetery at a later date.
