Judith A. Eikstadt, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on December 3, 2025.
She adored her family and nothing brought more joy than time spent with her grandchildren, who lovingly named her “Gigi.”
Judy graduated from Freeport High School; she fondly remembered her time on the swim team.
Robert “Bob" Pals came into her life and they soon married. Bob and Judy then had Stacey and Tracey. The family often went camping and canoeing and spent many weekends playing cards with their group of friends.
Bob passed away in 1981.
Judy then married Keith Eikstadt. Judy and Keith were involved in softball, coaching a girls team when Stacey and Tracey were young. Judy was also a long-time volleyball official. She attended every game for Stacey and every theatre performance for Tracey.
Judy devoted 35 years of her life to social services. She helped countless families in Stephenson and Jo Daviess counties.
She will be remembered for her generous spirit. She never showed up without “a gift.” She was also known for her quick wit and sage advice.
Her belief was firm that people deserve dignity, respect and fair treatment!
She was unapologetically a Democrat.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Stacey and Tim Joseph and Tracey and Reggie Sellers; grandchildren, Owen, Jake and Marley Joseph and Niomi and Nina Sellers; brother, Jimmy and Penni Kline; sisters in law Pat Copper and Jerrie Black and nieces and nephews, Ron Thruman, Greg and Lisa Kline, Tim and Allie Kline, Jason and Shannon Kline, Kevin Friedenbach, Eric Friedenbach, Heidi and Dwayne Friedenbach White, Shari and Stuart Johnson, Julie and Geno Edwards, William and Beth Black, Kimberly Cooper and Beth Cooper.
