Ladesta L. Shipp

LaDesta L. Shipp, 62, of Dixon, and former Freeport resident, passed away July 2, 2018 at St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford. LaDesta was born February 4, 1956 in Freeport, the son of LeRoy and Lola (Powe) Shipp. He was a 1974 graduate of Freeport High School. LaDesta worked at Kelly Springfield and Lee County Rehabilitation Center. Surviving is his son, LaVares Triplett of Prophetstown; sister, Linda Brown of Freeport; and grandchildren, Jarrek Boeck, Alexis Triplett, Davarius Blessing, and Schavarie Triplett. LaDesta was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 14, 2018 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Cole will officiate.
