Rebecca "Becky" Knoop, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and daughter, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to her family.
Becky was a woman of deep faith and a Lutheran who walked through life with a quiet belief in God and a profound love for the people around her. While she wore many titles throughout her life, her family was always her greatest joy and her proudest achievement.
Born with a sharp mind and an affinity for numbers, Becky enjoyed a successful career as a bookkeeper, keeping things running smoothly for several local businesses over the years, including Wings & Things pet shop, The Club Esquire, and Quad City Prosthetics. Later in life, she transitioned her talents to education, retiring after a decade of dedicated service as a paraprofessional for the Winnebago County Special Education Cooperative. Her patience and kindness touched the lives of countless students and staff within the Winnebago and Pecatonica school districts.
When she wasn't working or spending time with her family, Becky could almost always be found with a book in her hand. She was an avid reader with a lifelong passion for language and wordplay. She looked forward to solving the daily newspaper crossword puzzles and was a formidable opponent to anyone brave enough to challenge her to a game of Boggle. On fall Saturdays, you could find her cheering passionately for her favorite team, the Iowa Hawkeyes. She was a also a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #679, where you might find her enjoying the machines and all of her friends.
Becky’s warmth, intelligence, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by her husband, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the stories they share, the games they play, and the love they continue to carry for her. We will remember her everytime we eat chip & dip and Naylor spaghetti.
Becky is survived by her husband, George Knoop and daughters Heidi (Matt Cascio) Deininger and Brooke Deininger Wagner, grandchildren, Jess (Karlie) Heimer, Jackson Heimer and Elizabeth Heimer and Seth Wagner, great grandchildren Luke, Theo and Emmeline Heimer and step-children Kristina (Sam) Ayers and their children Trae, Mason (Makenzie), and Brevin; and Derrin (Michelle) Knoop. She is also survived by her siblings, Tom Naylor, Holly (Keith) Barker, Nancy (Doug) Martin and Dave Naylor. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juanita Naylor and Lyle Naylor and granddaughter Jennah Heimer.
Becky didn’t want any services, but she would be in full support of a good party. We will celebrate her life on June 18th from 4:00-8:00 at the Cedar Inn, 4747 IL-26 N, Freeport, IL. She will be buried in Webster City, Iowa alongside her family, at a later date. A memorial has been established in Becky's memory.
