Rev. Ada Louise Euells

Rev. Ada Louise Euells, 87, of Freeport, IL passed away Monday June 23, 2025 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 22, 1938 in Grenada, MS the daughter of Gus Hardiman and Lula Reed-Williamson Hardiman. In May of 1976 she married Welton Euells in Mississippi. Ada was employed at Micro Switch in Freeport for 38 years. She was a member of St. James CME Church in Freeport. Ada enjoyed western movies, religious programs, a can of Coca-Cola, and she was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. She also enjoyed staying active by walking.

She is survived by her husband Welton “Bill” of Freeport, IL; four children Lula (Euther) Sadler of Freeport, IL, Darcella Thomas of Freeport, IL, Terry (Paulette) Bowdry of Freeport, IL, and Edwin (Angela) Bowdry of Freeport, IL; grandchildren Angela (Garry) Thompson, Annette Cooley, Danielle Bowdry, Tamara Henry, Rickii Thomas, Sierra Bowdry, Michael Wallack, Ada Thomas, Courtney Bowdry, Devante Allison, Darrius Allison, Devoniar McClain, Davarris McClain, and Daquon McClain; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Preceding Ada in death are her parents; two brothers James Hardiman and Smokey Hardiman; sister Devon Tyson; and two grandchildren Phillip Jackson and Denise (Fernando) Johnson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday June 28, 2025 at St. James CME Church. A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be in Freeport City Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her memory.
