Robert "Bob" Charles Bratley

Robert "Bob" C. Bratley, 90, of Freeport, died Tuesday June 6, 2017 at Manor Court of Freeport. Bob was born September 9, 1926 in Freeport, the son of Jake and Amy (Shippy) Busker. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Bob married the love of his life Patricia "Pat" A. Zimmerman September 8, 1948 in Cedarville. Mrs. Bratley passed away on June 5, 2002. Bob worked for many years as a cement finisher and contractor. Bob was a member of the Cedarville American Legion and the Freeport Eagle Club #679. He enjoyed collecting antiques, going to auctions, and out to eat for dinner. Surviving are his three sons, Rod Bratley of Freeport, Joe (Donna) Bratley of Kingston, AZ., and Mark Bratley of Freeport; two daughters, Vicki (Steve) Gorham of Freeport and Becky Weber of Scioto Mills; grandchildren, Adam (Katie) Bratley, Joshua (Amber) Bratley, Jeremy (Casey) Weber, Amy (Scott) Licht, Sara (Jason) Satterfield, Shanda (Brandon) Hammlett, Bennett (Kimbra) Bratley, Danielle (Peter) Kline, Nicole Bratley, Kayana Bratley, and Chad Gorham. Also surviving is special friend Karrol Tipton and seventeen great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, granddaughter, Erin Bratley, and one brother, Paul. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday June 9, 2017 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Rev. William Blomberg will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Following the services a Celebration of Life will be held at the Freeport Eagles Club. A memorial has been established in Bob's memory.
