Robert James Fleischer

Robert James Fleischer, 71, of Freeport, passed away, Friday April 17, 2026, at Javon Bea Hospital, Rockford, after suffering from complications of pneumonia. Robert was born February 11, 1955, in Freeport, the son of Kenneth P. and Helen E. (Boelkes) Fleischer. Robert graduated from Freeport High School in 1973 and went on to graduate from Northwood University in Midland, MI., in 1975, majoring in automotive sales. He married Dionis Wolf January 28, 1978, at Cedarville Evangelical Congregational Church, Cedarville, IL. They were married for 48 years. Mr. Fleischer worked for his father’s business as a car salesman; Ken Harold Buick Pontiac from 1975 until they sold the franchise to Bocker in 1993. He worked for Bockers until 2005 when he went to work for Barkau’s. He retired in 2017. He enjoyed cooking, grilling out, and having family over for fish fries. He also loved going on cruises and watching car races.

Surviving is his wife, Dionis of Freeport; sons, Kyle (Tracie Drake) Fleischer, Freeport and Korbin Fleischer, Houston, TX.; and grandchildren, Keira Fleischer and Joshua Drake, both of Freeport.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his only brother Kevin.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday April 27, 2026, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Visitation 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
