Shelby Jean Cooper, 75, of Freeport, passed away peacefully, Wednesday October 1, 2025, at Neighbors Nursing Center, Byron. Shelby was born July 31, 1950, in Freeport, the daughter of Francis L. and Mildred (Schissler) Black. She married Jospeh M. Cooper in Englewood, Florida, on June 30, 1986. Shelby was the manager of the Cedarville Mobil for 15 years.
Surviving is her husband Joseph Cooper of Freeport; four daughters, Jamie Cooper of Freeport, Kristie (Steve) Morgan of Orangeville, Robin (Billly) Bare of York, South Carolina, and Toni (Ken) Eichholz of Lake Summerset; sister Alice Pierce of Freeport; eleven grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
Shelby was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Cremations rites will be accorded. Per Shelby’s wishes no services will be held. A memorial has been established in her memory.
