Terry A. Tipton

Terry A. Tipton, 68 of Freeport died Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at home with his mother by his side after an extended battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born April 15, 1958, son of John W. and Karrol (Kraft) Tipton.

Terry graduated with the Class of 1976 from Freeport High School. After graduation, he worked in the construction business with his father who owned Tipton Digging. When his father retired in 1994, Terry got into trucking, working for Civil and Rockford Blacktop.

Terry enjoyed riding his motorcycle, bowling, playing pool and fishing at his Grandpa/Grandma's farm.

He is survived by his mother, Karol Tipton, three brothers Russell (Anna) Tipton of Freeport, William Tipton of Dixon and Mark (Mona) Lang of Orangeville. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a great niece.

Preceding him in death was his father (John), grandparents (Glenn and Edith Kraft), several aunts, uncles, and one sister (Marlys Gibson).

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home starting at 11:30 am until time of service. The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday with Chaplain Jeremy Heller officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
