Veronica Theresa DeBoer

Veronica Theresa DeBoer, 80, of Freeport, IL, passed away Thursday September 25, 2025 in her home. She was born October 25, 1944 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Kenneth O. and Theresa (Sheehy) Martin. Veronica started her work career at Burgess Battery and then became a welder at Micro Switch. After retiring from Micro Switch, Veronica worked at Walmart for 25 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Freeport. Veronica enjoyed tending to her flowers in her garden and enjoyed going to the pool and sunbathing. Her favorite time of year was fall and she really enjoyed Halloween. Most of all, Veronica enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her five children Theresa Williams of Freeport, IL, John (Julie Marie) DeBoer of Freeport, IL, Kimberly (Scott) Feld of Baileyville, IL, Kathleen DeBoer of Tyler, TX, and Kenny (Kelly) DeBoer of Fulton, IL; brother-in-law Bernie (Bill) Eberle; two sisters-in-law Mickey Martin and Sue Martin; and 22 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Veronica in death are her parents; two brothers Kenneth “Pat” Martin and Steve Martin; two sisters Bernie Eberle and Sheila Bender; and son-in-law Todd Williams.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday October 2, 2025 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Freeport. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Veronica’s memory.
