Virginia E. Helsley

Virginia E. Helsley, 98, of Freeport, died Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Stephenson Nursing Center where she had been a resident for 14 years. Virginia was born on November 20, 1913, in Freeport, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Andree) Helsley. Virginia was a graduate of Freeport High School and Brown Business College. She worked as a secretary. She was a lifelong member of Bethany United Church of Christ where she was a member of the choir and Afternoon Circle. Virginia had perfect attendance for Study Bible. Surviving Virginia are several cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother; Robert and sister-in-law; Virginia Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 26, at Bethany Untied Church of Christ with Rev. Ted Michalsen officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
