Loretta E. Schroeder Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Loretta E. Schroeder, 95, of Freeport, passed away, Saturday June 11, 2022, in her home. Loretta was born March 1, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Herman and Elizabeth (Leege) Keppen. Loretta married LeRoy Schroeder on June 12, 1949, in Freeport, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Mr. Schroeder passed away August 13, 2015. She enjoyed crocheting and going for walks. Loretta was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Schmidt of Freeport; special niece, Patricia (Matt) Leners of Round Lake, Illinois; sister-in-law, Nancy Byron of California; four grandchildren, Jeff Schmidt, Cheli (Mike) Peotter, Joe (Ruth) Schmidt, and Doug Schmidt; nine great-grandchildren, Jarin, Cody, Andrew, Tyler, and Jacob Schmidt, Jaden and Harley Schmidt and Dylan and Lexi Peotter; Also surviving are special family, Nathan, Amanda, and Brooklyn; and many nieces and nephews. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister; Bernice Dikkers; brother, Roland Keppen. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Freeport. Rev. Paul Lidtke will officiate. Visitation will be Friday June 17, 2022, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established for Leonard C.
