Sunnie Tillmon Brown

December 2, 1950 - April 11, 2022

Sunnie T. Brown, also affectionally known as “Mickey” transitioned from the earthly world on Monday April 11, 2022 in his home. Sunnie was born December 2, 1950 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jackson Brown (Susie Mae Cook) in Miami, FL. He completed his formal education in Freeport, IL. He worked at Kelly Springfield for more than 25 years until he retires. Years later he worked as a crossing guard for Freeport School District 145 until his health began to decline. He was married to Rosa Brown for many years and to his union two children were born, as well as the blending of two families. Sunnie leaves to cherish fond memories six children: Lamarr Brown (Jamie Christians), Tillana Brown, Leon (Wanda) Ishmon, Chetwin Ishmon (Sherry Freitag), Eugene “Peter” Ishmon, and Tracy Ishmon. Three sisters: Mamie L. McPhee, Glenice (Eugene) Fulmore, and Shirley Brown. One brother: James Brown, and a host of beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends. He is predeceased by his parents, one brother, Edward J. Brown, Jr. and one sister, Alice Mae Brown. Celebration of life will be 1:00 P.M., Friday April 22, 2022 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home 504 N. Walnut Avenue, Freeport, IL 61032. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Cremation rites will be accorded afterwards. Repass will be from 2-4:00 P.M. at Juniors Place 1802 E.
